FAQ
What is hydrocolloid?
Hydrocolloid is a moisture-absorbing dressing material that gently draws out fluid (think oil, pus, and debris) while creating a protective seal over the spot. That sealed, slightly moist environment helps pimples flatten faster and keeps fingers, dirt, and bacteria away.
How is STIK different?
At STIK, we strip skincare down to one smart step. Each patch pairs clean, no-nonsense ingredients with innovative hydrocolloid tech, giving you visible results without the 10-step routine. Stick it on, get on with life, and show up as your fullest, breakout-free self.
Can I re-use a STIK patch?
We don’t recommend re-using a patch. Once it’s done its job, it’s no longer sterile and can pass bacteria or oil back to your skin. Plus, our micro-needle patches dissolve on contact, so they’re strictly single-use. Grab a fresh STIK each time for the best (and safest) results.
How do I use STIK patches?
1. Cleanse & dry the skin. No toners, serums, or moisturiser on the bump itself.
2. Peel the patch off the sheet and apply the sticky side directly to the pimple.
3. Press for 5 seconds to make sure the edges are snug.
4. Leave on 6–8 hours (or overnight) until the patch turns opaque.
Is STIK cruelty-free and vegan?
Absolutely. No animal testing, no animal-derived ingredients.
What do I do after I take off my patch?
Gently cleanse, pat dry, and follow with soothing or hydrating products (toner, serum, moisturiser, SPF). Avoid harsh scrubs or peels on that spot for 24 hours.
Can I wear makeup over STIK patches?
Yes. Dab on a thin layer of concealer or foundation; let it set, no rubbing.
Can I use STIK while pregnant or nursing?
Our formula uses low-level actives generally considered pregnancy-safe, but every pregnancy is unique. When in doubt, show the ingredient list to your healthcare provider.
How do I know my STIK patch is working?
Traditional pore strips yank out whatever’s on the surface (along with half your skin). STIK Clear works smarter: our hydrocolloid-plus-actives formula softens and liquefies trapped oil, dirt, and bacteria, then absorbs it into the patch, no ripping required. Use it consistently and it helps keep pores clear, so blackheads don’t get a chance to form. When you peel the strip away, look for little white spots on the patch, that’s the melted gunk it just pulled from your pores. Satisfying, right?
Are STIK patches suitable for all skin types?
Yes. They’re fragrance-free, alcohol-free, and balanced for sensitive, oily, combo, or normal skin.
When should I apply STIK patches in my routine?
Stick them on first, right after cleansing and patting your skin completely dry. A clean, product-free surface lets the patch grip tight and go to work. Layering serums or creams underneath can make it slide or sting, so patch first, then finish the rest of your routine around it.
Are STIK patches safe for teens just starting to break out?
Yes, our hydrocolloid patches are gentle enough for tweens and teens aged 12 +. For users under 16, we suggest limiting wear time to about 6 hours before swapping to a fresh patch. If your child has very sensitive skin, try a short patch-test first.
What if I notice irritation or an allergic reaction?
Remove the patch, rinse the area with mild cleanser and cool water, and discontinue use. If redness or itching persists, consult a dermatologist.
